Hi . So ive fitted a new axle, shocks, wheel bearings .also lowered 50mm done by imaxle .

Ive double checked all bolts nut are nice and tight dropped the car .Rear brake line was rubbing on inside bk left .
moved out of way tie wrapped up .
Full clearance on each wheel nothing moves no play in axle or wheel bearings .

Off down the road to a knocking its got worse over a mile .
pulled up check it out nothing seems strange .
returned home jacked it up & all tight no play .
Where could this knocking be comin from ? .

Exhaust can hit the lower torsion bar. Rear anti roll bar not in properly?

Spare wheel carrier or exhaust, after my axle was replaced the exhaust knocked over bumps but wouldn't hit the body when moved by hand.

Bump stops, exhaust, spare wheel and anti roll bar would be my ideas

Ive got one atm which im yet to strip, which makes a click and a knock when you hit the inside of either wheel from inside the tube....

defo the back box catching the rear shock just that last 50mm drop off the jack and it squeezes the back box right .
Its perfect in the exhaust cut out . Box is too wide or cars too low (not)

50mm drop imaxle .. was told passed 60mm is not under warranty and not advised . 50mm was ok .

Does seem low . Prosport rear shocks make any difference ?

No need to be that low. Bearings wont last long. Needs to raised about 20mm. Are you using the standard shocks

Prosport rear shocks .
In both pics its tight on the handbrake so its sittin a little lower than it would on flat ground .
It sits perfectly level hoping the front will drop a few mm

It was that low the sway bars was hitting the rear shocks .

checked axle & imaxle has dropped it 80mm and put the 19 mm torsion bars in the axle .(wrong ones as its a 180 21mm)
It tried to cut my exhaust in half .

Ive returned the axle's(old one exchange aswell) to imaxle to sort it out .
i fitted £100 wheel bearings with hubs .
unable to remove them because of the risk of damage .
Im 375 out of pocket with no axle for my car until i get the recon returned .

Not happy as silver gti has no mot from monday (also need a axle)
Il have no car = no work = no money . Not happy one bit .
