#1: Anyone fixed their own gearbox? Author: Lumpymash, Location: SouthamptonPosted: Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:46 am ---- Hi guys,
My gearbox crunches into 3rd and I was planning to change it for a used box.
But if it will be cheaper I'd rather just fix it.
I don't use the car for work so could have it off the road for a few days.
Where could I buy parts when I find out what's wrong?
Or is it to much hastle?
Jon.

If not dont bother attempting it

But I've heard different views on whether it would fit my gti 138. 2003.
What would you say?
Can I just check part numbers are the same?
Thanks for your help!

There the same box, it will fit no problem. The only one that's different is the GTi 180.
