#1: 206 styling Author: raz24, Posted: Fri Feb 13, 2015 2:01 pm ---- I have a 03 plate 206 1.4hdi. Need some ideas on what to do on the aesthetics. It has the phase 2 rear lights and phase one front lights running HID's. GTI 140 interior has gone in last weekend and the GTI 180 voted wheels are in for refurb and should be fitted this weekend. Car is moonstone and Has the non-sport bumpers.
Need help/advice on the following:
Crystal lights or angel eyes?
What size spacers can I fit to make it look better/more aggressive and which make is best?
Which springs would you recommend for lowering?
How do I know if the car is multiplex?
Has anyone smoothed any of there bumpers and what does it look like.
Any other little mods would be appreciated just to help make it look that bit better.

#4: Re: 206 styling Author: RichardEke, Location: DoncasterPosted: Fri Feb 13, 2015 2:09 pm ---- Hi there, the difference between multiplex and preplex is iutlined in the beginners guide: www.206info.co.uk/Foru...c/t=20541/
The 'Project cars' section is a good place to look for ideas and what different parts look like.
Hope that helps, Richard.
#5: Re: 206 styling Author: raz24, Posted: Fri Feb 13, 2015 2:27 pm ---- One quick thing really would like to change to crystal lights and I'm not too handy myself anyone know where to buy and adapter and also because of the non sport bumper are there any grills that will make it look a tad better. Because your car is a 2003 model it should have come with crystals/double optic lights as standard.
Depending on how the frosted with HIDs were fitted will depend on what you need. If the previous owner butchered the wiring then you might need to build a short loom, if they did the job properly, the connectors may still be there.
The adaptors are available from the dealer, but I would investigate under the bonnet before spending the money.

SP grills are available. No doubt a search on ebay will throw some up

Doesn't really warrant a response. You could try searching google to find who makes/sells them.
#8: Re: 206 styling Author: raz24, Posted: Sat Feb 14, 2015 2:58 am ---- Thanks for the response I will have a look at it all today. Could you advise on the tire situation I've a read a few different things now and ive already ordered brand new tyres so feel like ive thrown money away already?
#9: Re: 206 styling Author: Lecktorious, Location: ScotlandPosted: Sat Feb 14, 2015 4:32 am ---- What size did you order?
#10: Re: 206 styling Author: raz24, Posted: Sat Feb 14, 2015 10:34 am ---- Sorry for the late reply the tyres I've ordered are 205/50/17. I've read that I should be using 195/40/17? I want to lower the car too and fit spacers. Any advice would be much appreciated
#11: Re: 206 styling Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Sat Feb 14, 2015 10:54 am ---- 2003 built 206's are likely to have both H4 & H7 wiring plugs present on the loom as late 2003 was change over to phase 2 when crystal lights where standard fit.
Would still need a BSI tweak for crystal lights
#12: Re: 206 styling Author: raz24, Posted: Sat Feb 14, 2015 11:10 am ---- I had a look today and I couldn't see any other wires attached to the h4 plugs. Maybe mine was just an early version. But thanks for the response. Do you know anything on my tyre situation.

205/40 is the standard size on 17" for the GTi180, so 205/50 will be bigger by 6,9% (which translates to ~20 mm bigger radius, so tighter in the arches) and your speedo will show low ... If they'll catch on anything or not I don't know, never heard of anyone running that size though.
Normally recommended to keep within max 2,5-3% of stock diameter.
#14: Re: 206 styling Author: raz24, Posted: Sat Feb 14, 2015 12:00 pm ---- Right thanks for that I'll mention it to the tyre guys. Just wasted 95 on two tires that won't fit properly.
#15: Re: 206 styling Author: MrWhite, Posted: Sat Feb 14, 2015 1:34 pm ---- I struggled with 205/50 and 205/45's on mine due to fouling the filler pipe on the rear and rubbing on full lock at the front. So I have 205/40/17's on mine. Check out my project in the sign for some ideas
#16: Re: 206 styling Author: raz24, Posted: Sat Feb 14, 2015 3:04 pm ---- Cheers I will do was yours modified at all when you put the 205/40/17s on.
#17: Re: 206 styling Author: raz24, Posted: Sun Feb 15, 2015 5:51 am ---- Right guys think I've just found my h7 clips on my 206 they are two pins opposed to h4 3 pin?
Is it just plug in and play or do I need to do something else to the car?

No, should be the 3 as well (high, dipped and ground, but in a smaller grey rectangular plug. Internally to the light cluster there will be two separate 2-pin plugs, one for each H7 bulb, rather than the 3-pin h4-plug. See this pic. The main connector is the grey one in the foregound just above the adjuster.
Edit: You'll either have to tell your BSI that you now have dual optics (so it keeps the dipped beam on when the high beam comes on instead of as with H4 turning the dipped off, OR create another alternate powerfeed to the dipped beam bulb, using a double thow relay controlled by the high beam wire, so that with high beam off the relay routes normal harness to the bulb, when the high beam comes on (and the normal harness turns off the the dipped line)), the relay instead connects a line from the battery to the bulb, keeping power going to the dipped bulb that way while the high beam is on. Search, it's been covered before here.
#19: Re: 206 styling Author: raz24, Posted: Sun Feb 15, 2015 12:05 pm ---- Is there any chance you could upload a picture off all the connections needed for the crystal conversion to work. I can't upload to the page but think may be missing a few.

How do you mean? The connections / mods regarding the relay?
#21: Re: 206 styling Author: raz24, Posted: Sun Feb 15, 2015 3:18 pm ---- Sorry for delay.
I mean all the OEM connections that should be in the car I could do with seeing which connection are needed.
Then if I cant find them in my car I would also like to see any mods regarding fitting the lights with a h4 connection?
If this makes any sense please help me.
Thanks
#22: Re: 206 styling Author: raz24, Posted: Thu Feb 26, 2015 4:55 pm ---- Wheels have come back from refurb and had tires fitted, my personal opinion is that they set my car off and make it look 100 times better next steps I think I want to do is the crystal headlights. What will this involve I beleive I have found the relevant cables needed to plug the lights in. I want to de-badge the front and put a phase 2 boot strip on the back to have the smooth effect but some jealous fu**ers have scratched my boot and roof. Also anyone selling any wind deflectors for a 3dr.
Tyres are for sale too 205/50/17 x2 Nanking ns-2
#23: Re: 206 styling Author: Oafie, Location: Glyn CeiriogPosted: Thu Feb 26, 2015 5:54 pm ---- Hi mate, I've got some crystal headlights and the phase 2 bootstrip for sale if your interested.
