What are the issues with the electrics on the 4 wheel drive system, also are there any other issues/weakness'. I didn't know they did a 4 wheel drive system. How good would a 4 wheel drive 206 Gti be! By the sounds of things it would be a bad idea though wih using this system

Bump

Its the fact it wont take any sort of power for long.

Cheers Macj, has no one tried to solve these issues. Is it the diff that shatters? Or transmission shaft weakness? Interested to learn the faults of the system

Hey guys cheers on the feed back. I have been looking around for the T16 transfer box as its more bulky but then if I use the MI16 transfer box there are no electrical wizardry tasks to be done :/

I was just browsing pictures of the bell housing online and it seemed to similar so I got in touch with Spoox. The main issue I would have is going from cable to linkage!

The second would be going from a hydraulic clutch to a cable clutch. Unless you can change the fork inside the bell housing from a pull type fork to a push type fork?

Its just out of curiosity I am researching this and to see if it could actually be done in theory. I would have to spend alot of time getting the transfer box in and fitting the exhaust all in the recessed fire wall which is slightly off putting haha

whats the thoughts guys?

This has been done with the sierra cosworth 4x4 running gear in a Puma shell. I think the whole floor pan was used. For sure it would be possible with a 206 using the Escort cosworth but why bother. If you could get a sierra shell shortended and made to fit it would be a very good effort.

That much effort i wouldnt entertain it unless you had money to burn!

By far cheaper to fit a 206 shell to a cosworth floor pan and work from that

Dimma converted a 206 to four wheel drive by welding a cossie floor pan in and using all ford running gear years ago so it is doable. why not use audi tt running gear? more usable, reliable and easier to get hold of.
