New alloys car pulls to right when accelerating

#1: New alloys car pulls to right when accelerating Author: yglx PostPosted: Thu Mar 12, 2015 6:57 pm

Today I've fitted some lenso rs5 alloys with 195/45/r15 tyres. I've noticed when I accelerate the car pulls strongly to the right and at greater speed it's a stronger pull...

It's quite dangerous is it something to do with directional tyres? Or possibly my tracking? I thought tracking but how can it pull my car so much? Bit confused cheers guys

If it's only pulling under acceleration it's torque steer, just hang on tighter.

something doesnt sound right! id check with tracking first - maybe atleast try a visual inspection to see if they look off!

Check the tyres are not k, check the tyre pressures, check the wheel turns freely, check your suspension iethe lower arms

Torque steer on a 1.4 8v? It's something else I think as it's began since fitting these alloys mate cheers

The tyres are decent. I'll check the rotation of them tomorrow to see if they're all fitted on correct side of car and tyre pressure too as they may be overinflated? Cheers

I was going by the symptoms as I didn know what engine you had........
but you're right, if it's pulling that hard it won't be torque steer on a 1.4 206.

You haven't mentioned what size tyre came off when you changed your wheels mate, if they were skinny standard tyres on before the tracking could've been out and you've got used to driving like that but with the bigger tyres there is more grip so you will notice it more. have your tracking checked but go to a place that can check the camber angle as well, you might find that that could be out slightly. you might have a problem with the wishbones.

Sorted it guys. Front drivers tyre was directional and on the wrong side...oops

I appreciate that ill need tracking done as old tyres were 165/65/r14 steelies and now I'm on 195/45/r15 lol thank you everyone
