#1: Peugeot 206 dosen't start when the engine is warm Author: jpaul, Posted: Sat Mar 14, 2015 4:37 am ---- Hi guys! i have a Peugeot 206, 1.4, 2001, Benzin, a week ago i traveled with it on a high way for 2 hours, when i wanted to come back the car didn't start, until i had to wait 3 hours when the engine become
completely cold and then it started, i started to make experiment with
it, and what i concluded was that this car don t like to start with
warm engine! i checked the Spark Plugs, Timing Belt, and Fuel Pump, to
me they all look ok, i took it to a mechanic after a day they told me
they can t find any problem with it so they changed the TDC sensor, it
didn't solve any of problem only it got worst it stopped in a middle
of the road!!! a couple of months ago i sprayed a little bit of oil in
the ignition hole (where the key enters) because it was not turning,
and in the winter time i charge the battery because it was completely
dead, always when i turn it off i can hear a noise in the engine like
jiiir i believe it's from Fuse Box in Engine ,i'm thinking maybe
it's an electrical issue with this car, i m getting tired of it so please any help will be appriciated!

But that depends on, does the car actually turn over and just not fire when you say it wont start.

It's not unusual for the insulation to breakdown when they get hot then improve enough to start and run the car when cold.
An engine fault code ought to have been stored. Not all codes put the EML light on and crank sensors don't but the fault code will be stored.
If your car has a compliant OBD connection (due to the age of your car it may or may not; someone here will confirm) then a fault code reader is £10 from ebay and you have it for every future car. Plug in and read the codes. Last edited by kandlbarrett on Sat Mar 14, 2015 7:05 am; edited 1 time in total

Try another crank sensor first, ive known these to play up on a number of Peugeots with exactly the same symptoms and store no fault codes what so ever
#8: Re: Peugeot 206 dosen't start when the engine is warm Author: jpaul, Posted: Sat Mar 14, 2015 7:53 am ---- wow, i'm surprised to hear that every 206 has OBD port, my mechanic told me this car doesn't have any computer connection ability so they can't connect it to computer , the crank sensor has bin changed but it just made the problem worse (in my first post i mentioned it as a TDC sensor sorry!)
#9: Re: Peugeot 206 dosen't start when the engine is warm Author: jpaul, Posted: Sat Mar 14, 2015 8:01 am ---- sorry guys but english is not my mother language, perhaps i misunderstood, they changed the crank sensor that made my problem worse!
