#1: Please Help - Those with Service Box Author: Carlos_WR1, Posted: Sat Mar 28, 2015 3:39 pm ---- Does anyone happen to know the part number for the water pump gasket on a 206 GTI. (138 BHP) X Reg?
I bought a Cambelt Kit incl water pump, my mate went to fit it today but the gasket supplied with the kit (Febi) is poorly moulded and too big to fit in the recess in the head.
Also for thos that know the part number, do you know if this is a part Peugeot would have on the shelf if i went to my loca dealer on Monday.
Its fairly urgent as its meant my car couldnt be sorted today and my mechanic mate is away for 10 days from Thursday so need to get this sorted.

Original part 1206 C4
Replacement 1206 F6

Unfortunately he cant reuse the old seal as it was too perished.

Could it be just a liquid gasket? Something like Hylomar Blue

The fact is that the water pump (impellor part) bolts on with 4 bolts to the water pump housing, its the water pump housing that then bolts onto the block with a round O ring. Between the water pump itself and the housing is the seal my friend thought wasnt sealing right.
We bought another water pump with the intention of returning the first but fitted the second unit and we still had a leak.
Upon further investigation, it turns out there is a crack in the water pump housing. Also interesting to note (having done some research) is the early GTIs water pump housing is made of a platic/resin. it was later upgraded to a metal part.
The problem is my current housing is the earlier design and is cracked.
So the next question does anyone know if you can buy the housing individually? and if so what is the part number?
