#1: Tyre Size Author: 206HdiGti, Posted: Thu Apr 02, 2015 4:37 am ---- 2005 HDI GTI
All round my pugget I have 205/45/16
I can't find a very good selection of tyres compared to my 15s on my MR2.
I only need rear tyres though, so is there any other sizes I could use to broaden the choice? I.e. 215/45/16, 195/45/16?
Cheers

Plug the numbers in, so long as the difference is less that 2% then you are golden
I'd be careful going much wider, as the tyre will start to catch on the arch, unless you have spacers...

I've used them on a variety of cars and they're a great all round option.
#5: Re: Tyre Size Author: 206HdiGti, Posted: Sat Apr 04, 2015 2:37 am ---- Are they meant to be 205s? On some sites I've looked at The standard tyre size on that alloy is meant to be 195....
Can I really go thinner on the rear, will it not have a effect as the fronts are 205?

Any car fitted as standard with Nimrods had 205 tyres.
