#4: Re: Gti 180 version 2015 Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Sun Apr 05, 2015 8:06 am ---- I can't see that roll cafe bolted to anything? Think I prefer the oem wheels as well
#5: Re: Gti 180 version 2015 Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Sun Apr 05, 2015 8:18 am ---- The cage is bolted to the b pillars where the seat belts are secured too and also bottom of the rear quarter panels, it's only a dimma show cage so it's only for show only, didn't want to weld or drille any holes in the car.
Everyone does the oem wheels, just had enough of them being all black, so went for these rare 207 Gti pitlane wheels
#6: Re: Gti 180 version 2015 Author: E5GDM, Location: EssexPosted: Sun Apr 05, 2015 9:03 am ---- Very nice.....apart from the show cage.
#7: Re: Gti 180 version 2015 Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Sun Apr 05, 2015 9:36 am ---- What about the curtain airbags?
Wouldn't they interfere with / damage the cage if they where fired?
#8: Re: Gti 180 version 2015 Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Sun Apr 05, 2015 11:36 am ---- It doesn't interfere with the side airbags, I did have a proper safety devices cage but I wasn't too happy about drilling any holes in the framework or welding any plates to it

This cage is only for show, if I do roll the car it won't do anything to stop me from getting injured etc

i did and still do like the 180's it was one of the most fun cars i have ever owned, and thats comeing from scoobs evo's and plenty of other jap and euro cars.
in some ways i do regret selling mine especially as i still see it about and the lads killing it never been clean in over a yr, but i have to say moveing on to the new car has been a bit of a eye opener as too how things have moved on in terms of performance and creature comforts.
but 100% thumbs up to you for keeping the 180 dream alive.
ok not in the pug now but we really should meet up one day as i would love to see your car in the metal.
