A front grill question

More questions. Can I change the front grill bumper (black bit) for a newer type? So the line kind as below.

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peu...2ee188cd3b

To the honey comb style, as below

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEU...35eab5e02b

One last thing. Is it easy to change the petrol cap from the nomal colour coded to the GTI/CC silver type, but keep the same key and lock.

If you swap non-sport for non-sport or sport for sport then I don't see why not.

To change the cap, take the cap off, leave the key in and the coloured part just twists off. 30 seconds of a job

Hi, changing the grill from the one you have to the honey comb grill is a fairly easy swap and provided you get the right grill as there are 2 shapes of front grill depending on the model of car. for example the grill on my GTI is different to the 2 you have linked to, mine is deeper and has a step in the bottom that fits around the number plate.

If you grill is the same shape as the 2 you have linked 2 and you are thinking of buying the second grill, its an easy swap although to do a proper job youll want to take the front bumper off. there are likely to be 2 10mm bolts under the front of the car, youll then need to take the wheel arch liners out and youll find 2 more 10mm bolts, one on each arch as it joins to the bumper.

The GTI fuel cap cover is a cover so you should be able to buy one and fit it easy to your existing fuel cap and keep your existing locks. Like this one for example:
