Looking for an exhaust clamp ASAP please help?

#1: Looking for an exhaust clamp ASAP please help? Author: Horton898, Location: Earth PostPosted: Wed Jul 01, 2015 6:14 pm

know straight off il get a few people saying just get a different back box but I've got a GTI back box sitting doing nothing, i tried fitting it before to my car, it sits perfect, the only issue is the flange on the end of my centre pipe is too small to clamp it up properly.

I know someone will know exactly what im looking for, is there a clamp that's got a slightly bigger lip on one side so i can get it over the centre pipe flange too?

Yes you can get a piece, ebay is probably your best bet, if you know your existing exhaust size tube diameter (e.g. 1.75") i believe the GTI tube is 2" but worth checking.

Search for 1.75" to 2" exhaust joiner, it'll bring up what you want.

Alternatively you could try this place:

Theyll actually make you a joiner for £8.99 if you let them know the 2 outer diameters.

Thanks man, I was actually looking for this sort of style clamp with a bit more of a lip so I can get my existing pipe in.

m.ebay.co.uk/itm/28091...nav=SEARCH

Well it fits it just not the best fit but ive found a way round it, because the flange of the back box doesn't fit perfectly with the centre of the clamp ive found tapping the clamp once tightened just on the backbox separate from the car kinda "moulds" it round and closes up the gap on one side and gives me that extra lip I was wanting so now the pipe should be a snug fit in the clamp too with a little exhaust paste to seal it all.

Il let you know how it goes.
