loss of power and high rpm
-> 206 Problems

#1: loss of power and high rpm Author: Toojs PostPosted: Thu Jul 02, 2015 5:44 pm

Peugeot 206 1.4 petrol
Starts fine, when I pull off it goes but the revs get higher but car just about moves, it is ok when at a steady speed like 30mph, but soon as accelerate it's like it doesn't want to go but the rpm goes up high.
It does not cut out or stall, it also sounds like a weezing sound when accelerate
Any one know?

Wouldn't that cause crunching or slipping tho?

No crunching if it's the pressure plate & clutch disc that need replacing, & the increase in engine speed with little increase in road speed sounds like 'slipping' to me.
