Car works perfectly above 2000rpm! But below that there is no power/torque at all. It responds to throttle very badly and kinda missfires or doesnt fire at all on those rpms. Its giving me hard time to start moving again from crossroad. I have to pump the throttle to get like 2,5k rpms .. otherwise it tugs like hell or the engine shuts down.
Have you guys any idea what could cause this? I haven't changed coil pack yet because I'm not sure if it'd help and coil pack is pretty expensive here at my local dealer. Could it be worth replacing?

Hey! I live in Finland so I think the pp2000 map is no use in this situation..
I got new set of plugs from local dealer which were listed for GTI180. Don't remember the exact model number tho (NGK's anyway, but I'll check and get back to you guys)

Btw, I've been getting "anti pollution fault" twice now. The running problem is "on" all the time but I got this error twice and both times it did disappear in the next start or the second one. I got to read ecu faulty codes with my OBD2 reader the second time "anti pollution fault" appeared. The reader finds error code P1621. I tried with two different softwares and here are the results:
and for the record when the antipollution fault is not shown, there are no fault codes found in the ecu..

I did notice on the old and faulty ones I've seen (also my replaced one) that the housing plastic shows cracks on closer inspection; maybe worth checking
And have you checked the earth strap to gearbox yet? Sounds like it -could- be connection (signal) loss at low revs throwing the fault which might be poor current flow or even engine tilt disturbing cable connection.

Generic software sometimes is no help at all with giving an indication of a fault.
This is what comes up for P1621 on a PSA

What sort condition is the battery in? Also worth checking all the connections for the battery. The ECU needs a stable battery voltage, otherwise it can throws all sorts of odd things
You have also said that you have NGKs fitted. Bin them and get Denso or Bosch. They could be sending a rogue signal spikes back to the ECU.

I think this "anti pollution fault" was just random and has nothing to do with this.. Once the codes was reset, it never appeared again but the fault Im talking about is on all the time
About this earth strap to gearbox, where is it exactly? Possible to check without lifting the car?
I once heard someone talking about cold start wire, but I don't think it could affect like this?
I found a guy with PP2000 living close to me. So I had the car read and it didnt show any fault codes.
I made two notes:
- intake air temperature was pretty high (58-62 celcius)
- Cylinder coil charge time 1 differed from the 3 others. (while throttling it jumped between 1.87-1.99ms and others kept stable 1.99ms)
ps. Could faulty lambda sensor cause smthling like this? Which one of those values shows lambdas functioning?
#12: Re: GTI180, running strange below 2000rpm Author: McGuiverNL, Location: AmsterdamPosted: Tue Aug 25, 2015 5:43 am ---- Earth strap is tucked away under the battery box and to check it properly I'd say that box needs removing; it's pretty straightforward (remove battery after sticking to disconnect procedure, three bolts in base of box and carefully remove vent pipe and cables from two holders)
The negative lead goes down to the gearbox and jumps from there to the chassis lower down on the suspension turret. The cable ends might fray or corrode right next to the crimped on eyes, and it's worth checking/cleaning the surfaces that the eyes bolt onto while you're down there

Changed things, cleaned things yet juddered early in morning and couldn't move until the secondary air pump cut out. Pug dealer didn't really know what was up either. I ended up buying a set of cables and software off of ebay and had a sniff about myself. I reset the adaptive system and all is running well again. I can start the car and drive straight off and not have to wait for secondary air pump to cut out. The general judders and lag in pulling away have all gone as well. Nice to have the car back again!
