Take it to a Peugeot main dealer, they will know how to fix it.

is the latch pin tight?
can you move the hook over on the door latch and return it with pulling the haddle up?

Sometimes the mechanisms on locks can get sticky and prevent them working properly. Another possibility could be the striker that is fitted to the main body of the car. If this has worked it's way loose, it might have moved back a little and no longer engaging with the door latch as it should. Think there are a couple of Torx screws that can be tightened up once you are happy it is in the right place. May be a case of trial and error until you are happy with how it shuts.
