#1: Retrofit Air conditioner Author: Cypriot, Posted: Thu Aug 27, 2015 2:08 am ---- Hi all,
I am owner of 1999 1.9 Diesel (the base model which doesn 't have engine ECU) as I guess less electric and electronic problems)
I plan to keep this car for a long time.
The problem is I am living in Cyprus where weather is really hot in summertime up to 48c degree sometimes.
there are too many peugeot 206 at scrap yards here but very little luck to find 1.9 with aircon.
I couldnt find parts catalouge / diagram to prepare a list for minimum needed parts for conversion.
I want to know if internal heater / blower case is different with ac or without ac cars
I just guess, I 'll need
1- internal heater / blower case with ac evaporator including valve
2- aircon solid, rubber pipes
3- concenser
4- receiver drier
5- additional electric fan for aircon
6- on / off switch to operate Aircon or manual heater / aircon control dash
please help and guide me about minimum needed parts.
cheers
Cypriot

The air con system is belt driven so you'll need to be able to mount the compressor in a place it can be driven by the aux belt. I'm not sure if there was a 1.9 a/c model, but if there wasn't then I'd suggest getting the compressor in place will be the toughest job. You'll also need to find a belt that will route around the compressor pulley.
I'll see if I can dig out a diagram of the full A/C system for you.

Thank you for your reply.
In cataligues there is a 1.9 which has factory fitted a/c it production starts 1998 goes till 2002.
I saw factory retrofit guide before which I couldn't find now.

As I discover aircon compressor brand is ;
Sanden
But there are too many model numbers for peugeot 206
Which Sanden compressor can be fitted 1.9d engine without hassle?
