#1: 1.4 8v lump... Author: conker1221, Posted: Thu Aug 27, 2015 2:45 pm ---- Does anybody else think these things don't half chug along like a diesel? I don't mean performence wise as considering what they are I don't think they are too bad.
I am talking more noise wise.
I know in these little engines the tappets can be noisy, but the 1.4s I have heard don't sound too far off a van when on idle in my experience.

Normally adjusting tappets correctly fixes the noise
