#1: Timing Belt Tensioner Question Author: thiagon, Location: BrazilPosted: Mon Aug 31, 2015 8:53 pm ---- Hi all, i have a ew10j4s engine (206 gti 180) and need to change the timing belt kit.
So, the code i have from the kit is 0831T6, but this doesnt exist here in my country for sale, because this engine was never officialy sold here.
So, peugeot sell the belt (0816G4) and the pulley (083042) here, because they are used in other engines, but not the tensioner (0829A7).
Does anyone know if i can use in the ew10j4s other PSA tensioner, like the one used in the 206 GTI (ew10j4), code 082996?
Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

The tensioner was a normal sprung loaded one. but in not familiar with the 180, so i cant be sure. maybe there might be a peugeot expert on here later mate.
but
don't forget your water pump mate. thats just as fun to get off as the torx bolts on thouse crappy plastic covers
best of luck
#3: Re: Timing Belt Tensioner Question Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Tue Sep 01, 2015 3:00 pm ---- A Peugeot / Citroen main dealer should be able to order any part in for you even if PSA Peugeot / Citroen have never imported / sold anything with that engine in to the country.
If your happy to pay for the part up front then the dealer should at least offer to add it on to there next parts stock order.

MrBSI, Peugeot/Citroen said they can order from France, but they dont even know how much will cost and it will take up to 120 days, and i cant wait all this time.

The price should appear on there parts system computer as soon as they type the part number in.
120 days to get a part from France to Brazil, are they sending it by rowing boat with a 1 armed rower?
It sounds more like they cant be bothered / don't want to help.
#6: Re: Timing Belt Tensioner Question Author: thiagon, Location: BrazilPosted: Tue Sep 01, 2015 3:31 pm ---- When i check in the service box (citroen/peugeot) the price dont show to me too, they say the part is not homologated here. About the time, i dont know, maybe someone have to go swiming acreoss the ocean to get it.
Check this image, the 1st and 2nd parts are for the 143hp vvt engine, the 3rd part is for the gti 138 engine and the last for 180 vvt engine. I can get all except for the one i need.
And btw, 1£ = 5,6 BRL

#8: Re: Timing Belt Tensioner Question Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Thu Sep 03, 2015 9:12 am ---- The best solution to your problem is to have someone buy the timing set from Peugeot/Citroen,and send it you by mail,or express mail such DHL...as it's not a heavy part,I have it in stock.
Timing belt set (0831.V6)/(0831.K3)= 125 GBP+PP
Timing Belt Set + Water Pump (1201.L2)= 230 GBP + PP
here is a pic of the 2 items :
Cheers,

#11: Re: Timing Belt Tensioner Question Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Fri Sep 04, 2015 3:10 am ---- Have you looked at euro car parts? I'm sure all Peugeot belt kits are made by Gates so anything that can be bought from the dealer can be bought from euro car parts.
