#1: Battery Recommendations Author: Swinder, Location: UkPosted: Tue Sep 15, 2015 2:55 am ---- Hi folks! The battery I had fitted by Kwikfit in an emergency a couple of years ago has died after being sat idle for a couple of weeks whilst away. The battery itself is one month out of its warranty so they just want to sell me another one.
Long story short, I am looking for a recommendation as to which battery to get that will last and be reliable in terms of holding charge unlike the last thing I purchased.
Car is; 206 1.4 16v Quiksilver 53 plate.

Or a Bosch if its any cheaper ( its a rebadged Varta anyway)
The Varta D15 fits in the battery box ( as long as its NOT an auto )
Ive fitted these D15s to both my 206s, the one in mine is now 7 years old & still performing perfectly fine.
I take it you have checked your charging system is working correctly?

Yeah I had it all checked yesterday evening and was told that the battery was at fault rather than the charging system. The battery itself is a cheap (expensive cost though) and nasty unbadged thing from Kwikfit which conveniently failed just outside warranty period. I am mostly to blame though, the car has only done short trips for a while and then stood still for just under 3 weeks.
I will look into getting the Varta D15 as I saw them mentioned in other threads but wasn't 100% sure they would fit mine as they were all diesels in the other threads.

It was catalogued for 2.0 HDi at Halfords, depends how power-hungry your car is (subwoofers etc), my one's pre-multiplexed with standard radio and speakers

VARTA blue top,not the black top,as it's the Class A i would say in batteries.

I have Varta D15's in both my 2003 TU3 & ET3 powered 206's.
It will fit fine in the standard 206 battery box - as long as its NOT an auto! ( which a Quicksilver wont be )
The Varta D15 as it is part of there Silver Dynamic range will also comes with a 5 year warranty
Short trips / standing for a few weeks isn't really much good for any type of modern car battery.
