    ----
Hello I am a new owner of a 206 and have been given an old key off a friend from a scrapped 206. Is it possible to re program the key I was given so that the remote and immobiliser chip would work with my car and if so what would the approx cost be. My grind said I could press the button while in the ignition to sync it to my car but I would be worried without knowledgable info in case it stopped my normal key working it's the 2 button remote and I have a 2002 206
Thanks in advance
Chris

No chance it will sync, Peugeot aint that lax with vehicle security.

Peugeot Planet diagnostic kit needed for key coding & the security code for your car to allow access in to key coding mode.

Second hand immobiliser chip cant be recoded, needs to be a virgin chip.

The remote fob part POSSIBLY could be recoded if its the correct type for your car, there are many that look a like but are different electronically.

The Peugeot Planet part is easy, loads of us on here have it.

The security code is easy, any Peugeot main dealer can supply the code NOTE: Proof of ownership V5C registration certificate & your photo id ( driving licence or passport ) will need to be shown due to security.

Virgin immobiliser chips are cheap & easy to source.

Its the circuit board inside the remote fob you need to double check matches.

Thanks I only bought the car Thursday so will wait till log book comes back. I have a pack of booklets and papers from the glove box so will look if there is something with a code on, what should it look like and what is it likely to be on and how much do people charge to code a key
Thanks for the reply
Chris

Blue plastic credit card with a silver scratch panel & CODE printed on it.

There will be a 4 digit alphanumeric code under the scratch panel.
