#2: Re: ppt40 Author: steviebee, Location: kentPosted: Sat Dec 05, 2015 6:20 am ---- Fitted the MFD (ppt40) on Thursday, but due to work only just checked all functions. Poked a coctail stick down the window wiper stalk and all works so no need to be activated in the BSI. Just need to get hold of a Comms 2000 unit with the push button on the windscreen wiper stalk. So if anyone has a broken one and the price is good I might be interested. I can get a 207 one for £30 and as I only need the bit on the end not worried about whether the rest works or not.

#4: Re: ppt40 Author: steviebee, Location: kentPosted: Tue Dec 08, 2015 1:38 am ---- Hi Gazza, what year is your HDi. Mine is 2005 (2.0) and it dont need updateing. I have to get the stalk though. Have you tried prizing the little cap off the end off the stalk and poking a coctail stick in. I did mine and it came up 47.7 MPG. Did not think that was bad as been giving it a few blasts up the M2 and it does a lot of town work.
Steve.

I was going to ask how the end button came out. Then I can try the other functions. Does it simply 'pop' out using a thin blade or screw-fit?
Not showing the temp yet so may have to play but it hss taken over the open door signal just plugging it in.
#6: Re: ppt40 Author: steviebee, Location: kentPosted: Wed Dec 09, 2015 1:50 am ---- Hi Gazza, yes it should just prise off with a thin screwdriver. You should then see a tiny hole inside. This is where you poke the coctail stick. Good luck! I hope I will be able to just use the end of the stalk on mine, as in picteure on first post saves stripping the steering wheel off. Keep us posted.
#7: Re: ppt40 Author: gazza82, Location: South BucksPosted: Wed Dec 09, 2015 10:47 am ---- I'll give that a try .. I assume it will go back until I find a button (if you find two let me know! )
#8: Re: ppt40 Author: gazza82, Location: South BucksPosted: Wed Dec 09, 2015 1:50 pm ---- Well button refused to budge and wasn't willing to force it and break the stalk or button.
And I've got a permanent fault on the temp sender, which might be because it's a Style and doesn't have electric door mirrors ..
Still I have a nicer MFD ..
#9: Re: ppt40 Author: steviebee, Location: kentPosted: Thu Dec 10, 2015 2:04 am ---- Thats such a shame, but as you say a nicer MFD. The outside temp sensor is on the passenger door mirror, but you probably already know that. Is the wiring there for electric mirrors? If so might just be a case of changing the mirrors. I suppose it all depends on how long you intend to kep the car. Had ours 4 years now, and only just getting around to doing bits to it. I was going to get a 207 sport, but I would have to put about £3K to it to get a 2-3 year newer one with twice the mileage. Ours has only done 74K miles and bodywork very good still.
#10: Re: ppt40 Author: gazza82, Location: South BucksPosted: Thu Dec 10, 2015 7:05 am ---- Haven't had the internal cover off yetto check wiring but will.soon. Also swapping out a n/s mirror on the CC so may check the sender with that one at some stage. Got to finish the Alfa first ...
#11: Re: ppt40 Author: steviebee, Location: kentPosted: Thu Dec 10, 2015 7:09 am ---- Ok, good luck with it and hope you get it sorted.
#12: Re: ppt40 Author: steviebee, Location: kentPosted: Sat Jul 30, 2016 6:37 pm ---- Well have not done much to the pug as have been concentrating on my Transit camper. I have a complete Dav Comms 2000 unit. The one on my pug is a Delphi. Would this be a straight swap or would it have to be set up on Peugeot Planet? Or would I need a Delphi Comms 2000?
#13: Re: ppt40 Author: steviebee, Location: kentPosted: Fri Aug 12, 2016 6:56 am ---- Anybody have the answer to this question on the Dav comms 2000 unit?????
