#1: 206 not starting - help! Author: DJ-, Location: UKPosted: Fri Nov 27, 2015 4:04 pm ---- Hi guys,
After some help please!
My car is just not starting!
I turn the key and can hear it just about to start but then it doesnt!
So it gets real close but then stops.
Any idea on what I can start with?
edit: I must add, recently it hasnt been idling smoothly. If that helps to understand what it could be? Last edited by DJ- on Fri Nov 27, 2015 4:30 pm; edited 1 time in total

For the first time, there was this tapping noise from the engine near the coilpack/spark/injector area.
Any ideas? Might change the coilpack first?
It still wasnt idling smoothly either.

#9: Re: 206 not starting - help! Author: DJ-, Location: UKPosted: Sat Nov 28, 2015 9:33 am ---- Valve clearance and VVT solenoid. Right, both on my list.
Let me check the Haynes for directions and report back after its stopped raining

#11: Re: 206 not starting - help! Author: DJ-, Location: UKPosted: Sat Nov 28, 2015 9:47 am ---- Okay!
Also, I just remembered. When I plugged into the OBDII port, one of the readings is for the throttle and it showed on even when not pressing it (like 1.7% or something!).
Do I also need to think about an idle control valve? (I know its drivebywire so unsure how this ties with idle control )
#12: Re: 206 not starting - help! Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Sat Nov 28, 2015 9:52 am ---- Fly by wire throttle on ET3.
The throttle body is a known weak spot, I had to replace the one on my GFs 206 due to poor idle & throttle control.

#14: Re: 206 not starting - help! Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Sat Nov 28, 2015 10:01 am ---- A good 2nd hand throttle body & resetting auto adaptation cured the GFs 206.
Software update is also worth it for the ET3 lump.
There's a manufacturer part number on the throttle body, you can use that to match it up as its used on plenty of other PSA products.
