#1: Strange rattling noise from gear stick (linkages?) Author: FrankAteMyName, Location: TewkesburyPosted: Mon Jan 25, 2016 3:54 am ---- I've just got anothr 206. A 2003 1.4 8v GLX. It drives reasonably well considering the 93k on the clock. Today on the way to work I noticed that at high revs (Around 3k) there was a rattling noise. It sounded like a rattling interior trim panel. My passenger grabbed the gear stick and it stopped until he released it.
So my question is, what would cause this? I'm naturally assuming gear linkages as there is a little play in the gear stick when it is in gear (probably only a cm or so). What steps would need to be taken to fix this?

Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Wed Feb 10, 2016 1:00 pm ---- sorry for my late reply,but best way to diagnose this,is by having a look at it using a lift,or you can let someone put first gear on,and have hand break on,and try to move the car forward without moving of course,and watch the engine movement,and also do the same with Reverse,if the engine move so much,then you need to replace it.
