When fitting airbag back, have you ensured you pushed both airbag connectors all the way in, and then pushed the yellow "ear-clips" on each connector in (they are in essence opening the short circuit pins to prevent airbag from going off)?
(In your original photo blue one has it undone, and green has one in)
A bit hit-and-miss with those Com2000 units.. If I lived anywhere nearer, I could offer trying it on my car (just had a Com2000 replaced, but will need to remove again since ribbon cable reel has been wound up too tight and I hear squeel on full right-lock )

If you plugged an airbag (blue or yellow) connector to a resistor, instead of actual airbag, means airbag assembly itself is faulty. Am I right?
