Don't give up on your baby, keep it as having a new turbo is like having a new heart, the bad reputation that this engine have because people run the engine without having an oil change, until it's too late,to keep the engine well,it need to have engine flushing, and specific oil used, and run it for low mileage to keep it clean, and no carbon build ups inside the engine.

The most important is to follow the instructions when fitting a new turbo, you need to have an engine flush before you take the old turbo out, then take the old turbo, replace the turbo oil feed, and the oil return pipe, and oil refinery that sucks oil from the oil pan into the oil pump, clean or replace the oil pan if needed.
Then have a new oil filter fitted, and fill it with oil,and run the engine for 15 min. in Idle, turn it off.
Have the oil out,put a new oil filter, and new oil again, and take it for drive.

I will try to get you the full details, but this should be enough :),good luck.
