Hi guys,

So i have a Gti 180 and having serious issue with cutting out, cant seem to work out the problem. Driving, dip the clutch and all of a sudden revs drop and cuts out, dip the clutch again and jumps to life. Seems to be more prone directly after i have hammered it when cold...

Im so confused as to what it could be now.

Ive changed:

Spark plugs
Coil pack
Map sensor
Crankshaft sensor (between gearbox and engine?)
Earths from negative to gearbox and gearbox to arm

I have no idea what else this could be and its causing me a hige headache.

Please help

Jay

Idle Control Valve.

But I was under the impression that 206s with electronic throttle (which I believe all 180/RCs have) didn't have a separate ICV, and instead the ECU/electronic throttle handled idle. I could be wrong though, have been spared from having to dig into the engine...
