#1: Diesel LX 1.9 2002 fuel problem? Author: Caiwalker, Posted: Tue Mar 29, 2016 1:03 pm ---- Hi there,
I think I have finally posted this to the right place!
I have a 2002 LX d 1.9 here which my grandad is working on. He doesn't want to have anyone out to look at it, so has asked me to try to find out some information.
I don't want to ramble on, but this is how I understand it:
The engine won't start.
In the engine compartment, there is a pump button? Which he presses a lot of times.
He then takes the draw pipe? from the sender unit in the tank off. (Under back seat)
The engine is then started, and runs.
He then puts the pipe back on, and the car will run forever.
He turns the engine off, and back on again. It starts.
He goes back to it a few times within half an hour, and it starts.
Half an hour after it first starts using this method, it fails to start.
Does anyone have any ideas of what the problem could be?
Thanks in advance!
Cai

What is the procedure for bleeding the fuel system?
I've told him about air in the system and he made out he'd done that, but I could see air bubbles in the pipes. The car was run empty/low on fuel several times by my sister.
Thanks
