Its a Y reg 2001, 206 LX
If I don't press it then it doesn't start easily

Could need a full service. the throttle body might need a bit of carb cleaner,could be a fuel pressure issue or a sensor giving bad info.
15 years of of running i would start with the cheapest option giving the throttle body a good clean just dont use wd40 get carb cleaner.
