Wiring for speedo
-> 206 Problems

Hi all.

I'm new to this. But straight away I need some help.
Only recently I got myself an 206 CC 2001.
She always had some problems with the speedo and the display.
I decided to get a replacement part. But did't do a proper job checking the parts before buying.
The original is the model: T1/14ME8-JA.
The replacement I got is a model: T1/14M-JA.
As I discovered its out of a 2006 car.
The original has 2 wire plugs, the new one just 1.

My question now. Has anyone some experience with the wiring?
Is it possible to connect the wires in a certain way that I could make it work?

Or would all this be to much and I should spend some more on another part?

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 2 different speedos?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Cheers guys

Your car is non multiplexed.

Your replacement speedo is multiplexed.

The electrical systems are completely different between both.

Yes. A multiplexed cluster gets a lot of info via a 2-wire serial bus while the pre-plexed one has a lot more individual wires for all the functions.

BTW, 2001 is the changeover year between the 2 electrical systems, so don't go just by the year when sourcing a replacement.

Well...it's not possible to fit MUX (after 2002) speedo to Pre-lex (before 2002),as you said yourself, the one you got have 2 plugs, and newer model only have one,so the best way is to find another speedo like the model you got.
