Engine misfire and cut out at high temp..

Hi all,
I have a 2004 1.4 8V that has developed a strange fault Im hoping someone can help with?
It starts and runs fine but during long journeys or frequent start/stop journeys when the engine temp reaches 90 the engine will misfire, the engine management light starts flashing and then the engine cuts out and wont start unless it is left to rest for about 10 mins, then it will restart and run fine until the temp reaches 90 again.
I have changed the spark plugs and coil pack.
there's no fault code showing.
Thanks in advance, any ideas?

Possibly cam or crank sensor, but they should show fault codes .. what are you using to read the codes?

I called into a garage and they had a hand held diagnostic reader, they said a fault would only show up when the engine light is on. Once the engine is restarted the fault clears and the light doesnt always show when the engine starts missing and eventually cuts out.

I tried to recreate the fault on the driveway today, held the revs at 2000 rpm until the temp reached over 90 but couldnt get the fault to happen, it didnt miss a beat, very frustrating.

Which sensors should I start looking at first?
Could it be a fuel supply issue?

*UPDATE*
Code reader is showing P0300 Random/multiple cylinder missfire detected
which im guessing could be a number of things?

Checked the MAP sensor reading today with the engine off it fluctuates between 98 and 99
is this good or bad?

Also had a nightmare driving around today in this hot weather with losing power and eventually dying, definitely temperature related as it happened every time the temperature reached 90 and engine refusing to restart until the temp dropped under 90 again.

The good news is that I changed the MAP sensor and this fixed the problem I was having straight away.

ADMIN can move this to SOLVED , it may help someone else in the future.
