Unsual One...Rocking Engine, left to right...
-> 206 Problems

I have spent some time looking for an answer to this one...but has me a bit flummoxed...

With the front of the car on axle stands, when I rotate the offside wheel the whole engine/gearbox rocks from left to right...

It is as if the drive shaft is too long, putting loads of force against the side of the gear box.

Has the whole engine dropped down on the mounts??? Would seem a bit odd...

As a general note I switch out the wishbones every two years, unsure if the two things are related...I am always meticulous to ensure that the drive shaft is seated properly in the gear box...

Any Thoughts?

To be honest if an Engine/Gearbox is twisting then the Engine mounts and or the Gear box mount are not working, I would check the rubbers and that the Mounting bolts are tight
