my '02 206 1.4 just failed its MOT on emissions with a high fast idle lambda reading. reading was 1.049 (1.030 for pass). all other readings, Co2 HC etc, are fine in fact very good apparently.
recent history - was randomly misfiring for about a month recently, and had a new coil pack, sparks and injector 2 replaced, which fixed that problem.
after the failure my mechanic patched a couple of small holes in the exhaust but this made no difference. also the front lambda sensor seems to be well and truly jammed in there and won't budge at the moment.
i've seen plenty of posts with failures on CO2 and HC readings , but none on just lambda reading.
any help greatly appreciated!

Get a code reading and see what the exact fault is before throwing money at parts
