#1: Peugeot 206 stereo help Author: RazzleDazzle PostPosted: Thu Oct 06, 2016 11:09 pm
    ----
I have seen this as a common fault, so sorry if its been said before but....

I installed a jvc stereo into my Peugeot 206 sport ( Thumb Up yh im a cool kid) it works fine, remembers the station and any preset settings however it likes to turn its self on when its unlocked and doesnt turn itself off when ignition is off or locked. Basically its broke.

Read something about swapping red and yellow wires etc and that a 9v cable is the one to stay active and 12v is the one that turns off when ignition is off etc. Any help would be great, i dont have a multimeter either so diagram would be best please!!!!

You've got red and yellow the right way around as it keeps stored stations.
The radio should turn off after a few minutes - if it doesn't THEN something is broken.

The switched power line used on the 206 (most cars use real 'ignition') comes live as you unlock and remains active for a little while after you turn off/lock. So radio works as designed - if you want to change the behaviour it you need to change the switched power line to one of real 'ignition'.

Diagrams can be found under the Maintenance subforum of the Howto... forum.
