206CC won't start ..
-> 206 Problems

... So get the dreaded call from my daughter ... "Dad, car won't start. It sort of lurched but I didn't leave it in gear, and now it won't turn over at all" ..

OK, being the doting father I am .. get the tool kit and waterproofs out (it is p*$$ing it down here) and jump in the car.

Get to daughter's and no, it won't spin over. Sounds like a flat battery, but to be sure tried with clutch down and stirred gears. It's definitely not in gear which is a definite plus.

So under the bonnet and lift up the battery box cover .. YUK!

Greeted by pale blue "fur" ... lots of it (and I mean LOTS!) around the positive clamp. Cleaned it off as much as possible and then pulled the positive lead and ..

you guessed it ..

battery clamp simply fell apart! It is one of the screw on kind, so I'll carefully cut that off the lead by splitting it lengthwise as the lead is already quite tight.

So off to local car shop later for new screw-on clamp, and armed with a bottle of mixed bi-carb and water to clean it up and vaseline to grease it all over, will be back tomorrow morning to fix it!

Oh what fun!

And hoping it stops raining ..

Ohh, what a timing with this rain.

But at least sounds like a doable fix to me... could have easily been far worse!
