Hi all , I'm gutted , was driving down a main road today and a guy hit me pulling off his drive, he must have been concentrating looking the other way more.

This is my first crash in 8 years of driving , so I'm really scared to drive again now. My back is in agony too Sad

I've contacted insurance etc,

Anyway , I have some pics of my car, Its going in the garage Monday for the damage to be assessed. I'm worried it will be a write off?? Advice very much appreciated ,pics below

Shocked

That'll probably be classed as a write off

That could be pulled out with some effort. Insurance company probably wouldn't bother though.

That will be a write off from the looks of it.
Iv been hit in a 206 in a similar place and I was passenger and that pulled my back. After a week it was all good Smile

Definitely a write off. Insurance companies cant be bothered nowadays. I had an accident back in 2011. I was twisted in my seat looking over my shoulder when she hit me. Had issues with my back ever since. If your worried pop down to A & E. Never be too careful. I would be some different stretches to help ease it off, do them a few times a day.

If you are really attached to the car and there is no damage to the actual inner shell, see what a body shop thinks first.

The insurance company will probably deem it "uneconomical to repair" (which is different to unable to repair), but you can buy the car back off the insurance company with the money they will give you in settlement (if it was a no-fault accident, you should get the other driver's company to pay!).

Then use that money to get the work done privately. It will be classified as a Cat D .. but then there are a lot of them on the road now ... and you wouldn't know from the outside.

Our Clio got hit from behind and pushed in the hatchback .. Insurance was a write-off as they wanted to fit using a brand new hatch and rear bumper plus the respray ££££s ... we took money, bought it back and had it fixed at SAME repair shop the insurance were going to use and had some cash left over! ... a black second-hand hatch and bumper meant the car is still on the road. We did have to buy a new number plate light! Smile

Doctors appointment would probably be more beneficial than clogging up A&E. I would have said A&E if it had been within 24 hours, but after 3 days not really an emergency. If doctor feels further treatment is necessary then they will refer to a specialist department.

Look on the bright side. You can have part of your car sat in the house in a few weeks.
