#1: 206 1.4 wont rev up when warm (feels like rev limiter) Author: rallycross, Location: LondonPosted: Mon Mar 20, 2017 9:36 am ---- 2003 1.4 206 8v
When cold car runs perfectly and will rev all the way round to 6500 rpm.
After it reaches normal running temp the rev's become limited, the longer its driven the lower it will rev. Whats causing the rev's to be restricted?
After 10 mins driving it wont rev past 4800 revs.
After 30 mins driving it wont rev past 3,500 revs.
EG 30 min drive quite happy along the motorway at 80 mph in 5th runs fine.
But if you then try and use more revs (eg pull away in 1st, or sit with your foot on the throttle) it will rev cleanly to 3,500 revs and then it feels like its bouncing off the limiter.
We have a snap on fault code box and there are no engine codes.
It all looks original in there, nothing has recently been changed.
before we try a new throttle body has anyone had this before?
customer wants car back by mid week (its not worth spending much money on it swopping loads of bits as its just an old runner)
