The backlight never switches off and is always on with the full blast - had to disconnect it so it doesn't wreck my battery! It's been like that for some time now, so I tried to research a bit and found the topic above - I've tried to cycle the ignition on and off for over 30 minutes - with no results
Is it because I gave up too early, or maybe, could it be the comm2000 unit? I had it fixed ~4 times in the 2 years I have this car and its starting to switch on headlights on its own again...
