My sister has bought a 2004 1.1L 206 with no service history. The brakes were worn out so I replaced them (front disc and pads, rear drums and shoes). I also replace the rear wheel bearings (the n/s was shot, wheel got really hot and smoked when she drove it home, fell apart when I took the drum off), and serviced it (oil, oil filter, cabin filter, air filter, spark plugs, couldn't find the fuel filter?!). All good so far but the yellow ABS light is always illuminated and when you drive it, the red handbrake light comes on and red STOP flashes. When you slam the brakes on the rear o/s locks up. I assumed it was the speed sensor so I jacked the rear up, put the handbrake on one click and span the rear wheels with the engine on: no warning beep on either side. I thought bingo, both sensors are dead. I cleaned the o/s rear speed sensor: still no beep. I replaced the o/s rear speed sensor but still no beep!? Does the 206 not beep when the handbrake is on and you drive off? The ABS light is still on and the rear still locks up when you slam the brakes but thought I would post on here before I replace any more parts in vain!
It's £75 for stealership to read the codes. Are there any suitable code readers on ebay for Peugeots?
Thanks for the help.

You need a laptop with a 32 bit version of Windows to run it. I know it works on XP & Windows 7 ( I use 7 )
Software is easy to find free online, it's the Lexia interface & leads your paying for.
I have seen it reported that it runs on Windows 8.1 & 10 but never tried it myself.
Some higher end garage scanners will also read 206 ABS faults.
So I can just buy one like this one on ebay and I can do all the diagnostic Peugeot can do?
