Hi all getting code c1380 witch comes up as ABS Fault. Recirculation pump. Pump locked, CO, CC-or CC+.
Does anyone know if you have to change pump and abs ecu together or can you do one at a time?
Could it be something else or 100% abs pump/abs ecu
Would people try and second hand one or new? It’s a 1.4hdi 2005

Also just to say the ABS does work when breaking hard

Check all the earths & power supplies to the ABS unit at the connector plug.

If there all ok its looking like service / exchange ABS unit time.

I got a service / exchange unit from BBA Reman a couple of years ago due to the same fault.

Taking the passenger side headlamp out makes swopping the ABS unit over far easier as it allows easier access to the brake pipes.

But it’s strange that it’s working but bringing up a code.

Sorry, cant remember that info.

You would need a wiring diagram.

The fault will get worse over time until its at the stage of the warning light being on all the time & the ABS wont work.

ABS FAULT shown on the multifunction display ( if you have the larger version ) & the warning beeping is also annoying.

Does the abs pump or abs ecu need programming to the car if I brought a known working second hand?

Should be plug & play if the numbers all match.

How long a second hand one will last is a lottery, they all fail sooner or later due to a design fault.

Yer o know wanna get it working then px it I think to many problems are starting to come up or if the wife wants to keep it and the second hand bit works I’ll get the original refurbed in the long run. Anyway of double checking what the part number would be as I looked on the original and it has a few numbers.
