Well, the GTi is determined to fail on me spectacularly at the moment.

The brakes are shot, and now the clutch is on its way out too (if not already dead). Not sure which it is yet, as I had to borrow the 308 for a visit to London and Mrs VorTechS dutifully told me she could smell burning, and there was pedal vibration. (I don't know how she managed that, I haven't had an issue with it lol!)

So anyway. In order to get the car to somewhere where I might be able to get the clutch sorted, I better fix up the brakes which are spongy at best (worse since the ABS warnings have come on).

From what I've read this could just be a broken seal on the master cylinder. I've had a look on service box and found this:

Does anyone know if that's got everything needed to repair the master cylinder seals? It looks like it does, and it's only £7 so I might take a punt on it, but it'd be great if someone with better knowledge can tell me for sure!

Last time I did a brake master (non Peugeot) it was only about 4 seals .. so that looks about right.

Why not just buy a new one? Are they that expensive?

When I looked it up on Service box it was giving me a price of £77.00. Which seems a bit much unless the casing itself is broken.

Why you want to buy a service kit for the master cylinder if it's not leaking?or is't leaking, the brakes can go bad if there is a leak in the system, there might be a leakage in the slave or master clutch cylinder that cause a leak in the system,so check all the wheels and cylinders and clutch before do this as it don't go bad that much.
