#1: 2005 206CC has no power when accelerating Author: pugsforlife, Posted: Tue May 15, 2018 5:40 am ---- the car generally drives fine but when accelerating from a standstill (esp first drive of the day) the engine loses a lot of power and you need to rev it up to get going.
our mechanic has no idea. ive run a scan, no DTCs. ive replaced the air filter, used a throttle cleaner, fuel injector cleaner, checked the plugs and now im wondering if i should try MAF sensor cleaner
so my question is a really stupid one but do these 206s have a MAF, and if so where is it? i know it should be somewhere between the air duct and the throttle - just not sure if im missing it.
its a 2.0L petrol 2005 206CC
photo below is the engine with the area i think it should be circled... any ideas on this enigma?? thanks

#3: Re: 2005 206CC has no power when accelerating Author: pugsforlife, Posted: Tue May 15, 2018 7:58 pm ---- ok so this model only has a map sensor then?
its really only at low speeds so issues with first, second & reverse. no major issues when driving at speed
#4: Re: 2005 206CC has no power when accelerating Author: pugsforlife, Posted: Tue May 15, 2018 8:24 pm ---- actually does anyone know where the map sensor is located? im thinking i might use some maf cleaner on it to see if that helps.
#5: Re: 2005 206CC has no power when accelerating Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Wed May 16, 2018 3:49 am ---- Scan it with Peugeot Planet / Diagbox, i suspect it will flag the electronic fly by wire throttle body being at fault.
Generic EOBD / crappy Snap On scanners usually won't pick this fault up.

Usually a waste of time. If its failing, it's the electronics. I have in the past used contact cleaner (it has to evaporate leaving no residues) but this tended to just mean it fails completely quicker.
I did hear of someone who washed his .. I don't suggest trying that!
