Rear Speaker = 5 door 206
-> 206 Problems

#1: Rear Speaker = 5 door 206 Author: hooch84 PostPosted: Tue May 15, 2018 8:52 am

I have a 2001 206, and I am aware there are posts and guides that exist but none seem to match up to what I am seeing.

My car does not have existing speakers in the rear doors, and I have checked for wiring that could be used. There are no wires with spades on them, but there is wires going into the doors. There are 4 of them but they are all taped together and go into a fitment at the top of the door, I am probably right in assuming that at least two of these wires are for the central locking.

I'll post the pictures here and see if anybody can tell me what is what. The wires are red, yellow, green/yellow, pink.

I am assuming red is for power, central locking most likely, and the green/yellow will be earth?

Would I be able to just splice speaker cable onto the pink and yellow wires and run them to speakers?

Wire colours are the same in both rear doors.

These are the wires that are in the loom, going into the door.

The wires run through the door and up to the top behind the handle, this is where they stop, at this connector.

Hopefully someone will be able to give me some clarity!

PS: I don't have wiring diagrams, and I have checked some, none of them seem to match my wiring. If you need vehicle specifics, I can tell you...

2001 206, not sure of model, can't find it anywhere.
Dash only has the clock, not the temp etc.
It has aircon, fan and aircon console is dials and the push pull for internal/external air.

It has an aftermarket stereo, not sure what it was fitted with originally.
The stereo is a simple Pioneer DEH150MP.

It's a 1.4 petrol, electric front windows, windy down rear windows. No heated seats, if that's relevant and it does have central locking. If more details are needed feel free to let me know.

If it as Peugeot wiring then they will end in a plug not just spades. The standard 206 speakers have a socket that simply plugs in. I had to chop this off to fit other speakers to my 3-door.

But ... not all 206s have rear speaker wiring .. especially the cheaper models. So you need to find out if that red & yellow are speakers and not something else.

Yeah I chopped the block off when I did the front speakers, no block in the rear so through the power of deduction, let's just assume I have no wiring in the rear doors for speakers.

In that case, I'm assuming the wires I'll need to find to connect up too are somewhere behind the dash and I need to find out the colours of those. Would be easier if the colour continued from behind the headunit, but I know they change somewhere behind the dash.

So, unless someone knows where they'll be and/or the colours, it seems I'm on a wiring diagram hunt that matches my car.

Oh, and then get it through the molex/harness on the pillar.

Thanks, but I think I have it sorted. The connections at the back of my headunit, no rear wires coming out, obviously my headunit wires are there but that's as far as they go. Makes it very simple for me, just got to run speaker wire from there to the doors. No hunting for wires, they're not even there!

Worked out my route, under the carpet along the door, up the pillar and find a way through the molex/harness between the pillar and the door. Fairly easy job!
