206 Convertible - getting into
-> 206 Problems

#1: 206 Convertible - getting into Author: thecathouse PostPosted: Wed Aug 01, 2018 9:15 am
    ----
So some idiot (namely me) disconnected the battery on our 206 Convertible (54 plate) late last year as needed a bit of work to get back on the road and money was a bit tight.

Obviously the car doors were locked etc before I took the positive lead off the battery and closed the bonnet.

Didn't occur to me that the doors won't open again without power as the windows seal into the roof.

Question is can I manage to get the car or bonnet open without having to break something. Key works the door locks and the boot but I can't see how I can get into the cabin to pull the bonnet release.

Help, desperate in Surrey.

I'm confused, if the key works the door locks (as it should by sticking it in the hole and turning it), surely you can get into the car to release the bonnet?

Or have I mis-understood.... ?

Windows drop slightly on a CC when you open doors as there pillarless.

Maybe some washing up liquid around the edge of window would safely lubricate it.

Open the bonnet using a screwdriver and pushing the end of the cable. Use a torch to find it through the upper grill. Push it to the right.

*Mr BSI. I'VE JUST HIRED a 308 1.2 with the 130bhp engine. Pretty decent car. Sounds good too around 4k rpm ..

Do you mean bonnet or boot?

After a re-read i understand now!

Windows wont drop to open the door, as there's no power.

Windows don't drop on a CC (I can confirm they don't on ours), only starting with 307cc: www.thepeugeotforums.c...tion.4492/

Got the same problem, and will be adjusting the glass in the runners

Yep windows dont drop like that on a 206cc, the reason the door wont open is they deadlock when you lock them with the fob on the first press, the second press releases the deadlock but leaves the door locked.

This feature is dangerous, I read about someone who had broken down and the battery had gone flat trying to start it and while waiting for aa the central locking had fired at random and locked all the doors and the driver was unable to get out until the aa turned up and the guy was able to jump start power to open the doors again.

Just what you need if you had a crash and the car was on fire, doors that wont open.

Even if they ran down the battery so much it couldn't turn the engine over there should still be enough power to lower a window.

Doesnt putting the key in the doorlock not open them?
