#1: The Great Fuel Filler Cap Puzzle Author: purrjoe, Location: South CoastPosted: Wed Sep 26, 2018 8:45 am ---- Can anyone explain to me how to remove the petrol cap locking mechanism from the exterior painted moulding?
Obviously I would like to re-use the key and mechanism that is original to the car. I want to fit a sports type moulding with the dummy allen-head bolts, but am unable to remove the key from the lock once the assembly is removed from the fuel neck so stopping the removal of the mechanism.
I just cannot work out how to do it.

Press that in, whilst turning the key and you'll be able to remove it.
