Peugeot 206 immobiliser

Intermittent starting which i think is immobiliser related. Occassionsl every two or three days the car wont start. When it does its instantaneous like a new car. When it doesnt the engine rotates but doesnt start. Ideas Mad please.

Needs to be put on a diagnostic to see if any codes are being recorded to show you why

Depends if you are using a PSA compatible dignostic. PP2000 is best

What year/engine?

This will have the electronic fly by wire throttle system fitted then.

The electronic throttle body controls the idle speed & the throttle body is a known weak spot.

When it doesn't start switch the ignition OFF & then open the door, if it beeps then its not the immobiliser.

Have you scanned if with Peugeot Planet as this engine management system can store fault codes for the electronic throttle system but not put the diagnostic warning light on.

Old fashioned mechanical throttle set up on this one according to Service Box
