Hi there,

My mother's partner is giving me a 206 HDI Sport 2.0 as I currently have a clapped out Astra and no funds to buy a new car ha.

Just curious as to whether this car has any aux/mp3/BT function?

My Astra has a built in aux.

Thanks in advance.

No it wont have any aux / bluetooth / mp3 features from the factory.

You can add a aux in to the cd changer port on the back of the factory radio BUT it would need to be activated by Peugeot Planet before it would work.

Other option is replace the head unit with something suitable which is likely to be the best way to go.

What is Peugeot Planet? And does it cost?

Peugeot Planet is the diagnostic software required to adjust / diagnose Peugeot products.

Software can be found free online but the Lexia interface costs £

So in your opinion would it be cheaper just to stick a CD player with aix/MP3/BT in there?

Yes - you could also try & get one that interfaces with the remote audio stalk.

If it's a multiplex car (the radio does not have a display ... it uses the multi-function display you will need PP to tell the car it no longer has a standard radio ... or it bleeps at you ...

An older 206 can be swapped easily ... plug & play cable adaptors .. I fitted a Sony unit to my daughter's CC very quickly and that had aux and usb ... maybe no bt but that was few years ago. you'll need a dash adapter if the older style too

I've never know a multiplex 206 beep just by removing the factory radio.

My sister had a 1.1 206 Style. That used to beep at me. That was a 52 plate. Mines an 05

My 2002 did when I removed it to try and work out why the new rear speakers didn't work (Style only had fronts).

Put the radio back and bleeps stopped. Tried a non-Pug one (borrowed so temporary) and rear speakers worked, but bleeping came back!

Got a copy of PP2000, put Pug radio back and discovered you had to program BSI to use rear speakers!!! And also found a setting to tell BSI oem radio wasn't fitted.

I've fitted Connects2 AUX kit (CTVPGX010) to 2007 206 CC which did not have a CD changer, and did not have to change anything via PP2000.

The Bluetooth AUX kit (CTAPGBT010) also worked without problems in a GTi 180 (2004), where previously there was a CD changer fitted.
Again, nothing had to be altered via PP2000. Maybe just gotten lucky Smile

These kits work a treat, integrate with your steering wheel controls, and it's much better to listen to music via Bluetooth as opposed to AUX, as you can change tracks and playback pauses when you are having a phonecall or switch engine off.

The only downside of the BT handsfree kit is that you cannot do an outgoing call without using your phone, so that means stopping and engine off to do that Wink

There is no MrBSI. It's just a cleverly crafted AI bot, everyone knows that.
