It's unlike a BSI to just lock during a drive cycle hence my thoughts that it's more likely a loss of power or communication somewhere along the line?
Does the car crank over well on the starter? (at least as well as it did before).
#5: Re: 206cc non starter Author: Bigbigall4, Posted: Thu Jul 02, 2020 3:15 pm ---- Turns over great.just plugged it in says ECU locked .Al's noticed loose by fuse board under dash is a white wire with a connector on it but not connected.is this right
#6: Re: 206cc non starter Author: Bigbigall4, Posted: Fri Jul 03, 2020 2:00 pm ---- Also just noticed .no wipers or heater is it all related
#7: Re: 206cc non starter Author: ekjdm14, Location: CheshirePosted: Fri Jul 03, 2020 11:34 pm ---- Heater/fan only runs with engine running, wipers would usually work with ignition on though which would lead me to want to test ignition switch for power where there should be & check the BSI has the feeds/earths it needs. Do the indicators work? (hazards should work at all times but indicators would only be on ignition live).
#8: Re: 206cc non starter Author: Bigbigall4, Posted: Sat Jul 04, 2020 8:59 am ---- Indicators work fine.ecm still locked.thinking about changing board bsi and ECU .is it a easy job.and will it all need coded
#9: Re: 206cc non starter Author: ekjdm14, Location: CheshirePosted: Sat Jul 04, 2020 11:36 am ---- If you were to change the BSI and ECU together, you'd need the BSI/ECU and transponder at least (ideally a key set and code) & provided it was from the same spec car it ought to work, although your mileage would revert to whichever was the higher (so if you have say, 75k and the donor BSI had 130k, your clocks would go to 130k).
To be fair I still think it's worth going through the wiring and confirming everything is seeing the voltages it needs to. Whereabouts are you based? It'd be good to get it on PP2000 and see what's going on at a deeper level.

A simple beep test to check it: close all doors, turn ignition on and off, leave the key in, open driver's door, hear for the beep.
If the car doesn't beep, check if the transponder chip in your keyfob hasn't come loose off its socket.
Wipers and headlights won't work when BSI can't talk to ECU if I remember correctly; the car is already in Eco Mode too quite likely.
