Misfire code p0200
-> 206 Problems

Hey all,

I have peugeot 206 1.4i 2002.

I'm currently having misfire and my neighbour kindly hooked up his diagnostics to it last night while I wait for my cable.

This was the result -

Is there some software though that can give a more specific p0200 code? Like what cylinder (1) for example. I'm going to use the scantools.net opensource software for ubuntu when the cable arrives.

However, I'd be grateful if someone can point me to some software that can monitor the injectors or do more to point me in to what to replace?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Merci! Wink

You haven't fitted NGK spark plugs to it I hope?

If you have then launch them towards the nearest bin & fit some Bosch ones - the 206 TU phase misfire detection system hates NGK spark plugs & its a well known issue.

Peugeot Planet 2000 is the most in depth diagnostic software for a 206 - but I doubt it would pin point which actual cylinder it is.

The coil pack is connected internally cylinders 1 & 3 as one pair then cylinders 2 & 4 as a second pair.

The 206 also runs a wasted spark ignition system so the spark plugs fire on both the compression stroke as well as the exhaust stroke - helps keep the spark plug tips clean.

There was also a modification done adding a condenser to the coil pack connector plug but that should have been done many years ago.

I had my sparks changed by F1 Autocentre on June 29th. Don't know if they fitted NGKs.

Just ordered some Bosch ones from Eurocarparts though! Will see what happens come Saturday when I replace them. Thank you for that tip. Inexpensive, if it works great, if not it was only a few quid.

Thank you,
