Hi
I am new to this forum as I have just bought a 206 for my wife. it is a 2004 with 9000 miles on the clock yes you read right enough an amazing 9000. I do have a couple of problems with it however one is the speedo reading, when reading 30 mph it is actually doing 36mph and the differance goes up with the speed. I have guessed it may be the sensor do you think I am correct?
the other problem is more complicated and is the central locking system. When useing the remote key the locks make a low clicking noise and the lights flash but nothing happens. if I use the key in the lock it will only lock that door. what I also find strange is the curtisy light is on constently when set to come on with the doors and I think may be part of the central locking issue.
I would be gratefull for and input or advice

Are there any door open warnings on the screen? For example, when going over a bump.

The locks have microswitches and parts that move can wear. In my case the passenger door intermittently showed as open, then just stayed almost always showing as open. I ended up buying a power lock latch mechanism from the wreckers and replacing it. It was a bit of work to remove the door panel. Some contortion involved in figuring out how to get the metal rods off the latch and getting that latch out. Having a good look with a flash light, patience and a few twists in the right way and it comes out.

Being a 2004 Model, the door latch should have a 6 pin connector ( older ones DAM 8575 and before have a 9 pin connector).

Not sure, but the hatch /trunk could activate the light too. Anyway, you need to figure out which door it is before proceeding.

thanks for your reply. No there are no warning lights flashing, I had a closer look at the hatch lock and it will lock but not unlock. I checked the wires and got power when locking but no power when unlocking. The problem seems above my head so I will try to get an auto electrician as it could be the bsi unit and going round all the doors will be a lot of work

Going to make a stupid suggestion here - but worth checking as I've encountered it on other cars. In regards to the speedo issue - are the correct size tyres fitted? Otherwise I'd be looking at the sensor as well!
Good luck with it, that's some incredible mileage! My 04' plate is going on 95k!

+1 on correct size wheels..

Also, 'could be the wrong size wheels programmed into the BSI after other work on the unit.
