#1: Intermittent starting problem Author: Andyblue64, Posted: Fri Sep 27, 2024 12:30 pm ---- Looking for some help with an intermittent starting problem on my 206 1.4 2002 Quicksilver. Car starts and drives OK but sometimes it will crank and not start. Can leave it for 5 10 min then it may start. Have also found that if I disconnect the battery to rest the ECU it starts OK after this for a while but will then play up again after a while. Is this an ECU problem and how can I check it? None there are no fault codes showing on OBDII scanner.
Thanks

Does your Quicksilver have the double hazard & door lock button fitted?
On a 22 year old vehicle it could be anything & difficult to diagnose over the internet.
While it has the crank & non start issue, attempt to connect your OBD scanner to see if the engine ecu is locked or unlocked.
The immobiliser on the 206 locks the engine ecu to prevent it starting / running but doesn't stop the starter motor from cranking.
The crank position sensor would also stop it running, these normally fail when hot.
Might be worth scanning it with Peugeot Planet / Diagbox to see when hidden faults are in the system & what software version the BSI is running.
