It is staying completely standard and the aim is to turn it into a concours vehicle! Wink

Luke: we havent had chance to inspect the head yet and we paid £560 for it including brand new unfitted clutch and oil filter. It also has a fair amount of service history too! Only failing on washerjets in october Very Happy
bargain then really and you could earn some cash when its done easy to find the parts aswell! any plans like grey alloys and what not?

Just gonna concentrate on getting it repaired and running sweet first then eventually turn to styling tweeks Wink

The goodwood style pepperpots look great actually! Very Happy

Nice wee car, it's got a lot of potential and will always be desirable in white. Good buy!

Plans? ( Btw i would reccomend, if you can afford it, 1.9 engine + 1.6 gearbox Wink )

From what I've heard a good 1.6 will have no problem keeping up with an average 1.9. Ed's 1.6 was certainly nippy!

If you want to make it concours and win any competitions I've stick with the 14" Pepperpots Wink

you may already have this but there's a useful 205 gti spec. sheet here:

just doing the repair alone you could then sell it and make a tidy profit. nice investment this

So would I but I suppose myself and G of all people might be a tad anal when it comes to things like that. Have 2 sets of wheels? Pepperpots are cheap as chips anyway. I think it would look pretty damn cool with them too anyway.

1.6's can keep up with 1.9's as i experienced yesterday Laughing
