It is staying completely standard and the aim is to turn it into a concours vehicle!
Luke: we havent had chance to inspect the head yet and we paid £560 for it including brand new unfitted clutch and oil filter. It also has a fair amount of service history too! Only failing on washerjets in october
bargain then really and you could earn some cash when its done easy to find the parts aswell! any plans like grey alloys and what not?
#20: Re: The Howey's Project White Retro Classic Author: Howey, Location: Kings LynnPosted: Sun Apr 25, 2010 9:59 am ---- Just gonna concentrate on getting it repaired and running sweet first then eventually turn to styling tweeks

Nice wee car, it's got a lot of potential and will always be desirable in white. Good buy!

Plans? ( Btw i would reccomend, if you can afford it, 1.9 engine + 1.6 gearbox )
From what I've heard a good 1.6 will have no problem keeping up with an average 1.9. Ed's 1.6 was certainly nippy!
If you want to make it concours and win any competitions I've stick with the 14" Pepperpots
#25: Re: The Howey's Project White Retro Classic Author: colinn, Location: IpswichPosted: Mon Apr 26, 2010 5:58 am ---- you may already have this but there's a useful 205 gti spec. sheet here:
#26: Re: The Howey's Project White Retro Classic Author: apjs87, Location: PlymouthPosted: Mon Apr 26, 2010 6:11 am ---- just doing the repair alone you could then sell it and make a tidy profit. nice investment this
#27: Re: The Howey's Project White Retro Classic Author: Howey, Location: Kings LynnPosted: Mon Apr 26, 2010 7:04 am ---- Thanks for the spec sheet colin
Yeah apjs87 thats what we thought, project on 2 fronts! But I dont think we really want to sell tbh

So would I but I suppose myself and G of all people might be a tad anal when it comes to things like that. Have 2 sets of wheels? Pepperpots are cheap as chips anyway. I think it would look pretty damn cool with them too anyway.
1.6's can keep up with 1.9's as i experienced yesterday
#29: Re: The Howey's Project White Retro Classic Author: Howey, Location: Kings LynnPosted: Mon Apr 26, 2010 3:54 pm ---- Yeah like you say we can always have both Not the end of the word is it??
